As ASDA continue to expand their range of financial and insurance services, we have decided to take a look at the ASDA car breakdown cover. So join us as we take a look at what's on offer and how it might come in handy for you and your family one day.
What is it?
ASDA car breakdown cover is an insurance policy that covers your car, or cars, in the event of an accident or breakdown anywhere in the United Kingdom, taking the worry of ever ending up stranded by the roadside off your plate.
What types are there?
ASDA offer three main types of breakdown cover. The first, Roadside Cover, offers you roadside and local recovery cover only. The second, UK Breakdown Cover, offers roadside and national rescue plus cover at home. And the third, European Cover, includes everything in the UK Breakdown Cover plan plus European cover. The latter is ideal for those of you who spend a lot of time driving in Europe.
How much does it cost?
Unsurprisingly, ASDA have manages to beat the prices available from both the AA and the RAC by quite a bit, especially for the more detailed cover policies. Regular Roadside Cover is available for £25 per year, beating both the AA and RAC's price of £28.
But that's not where the real savings are, the UK Breakdown Cover package with ASDA costs a mere £70 per year (or £7.50 a month) in comparison to the comparatively pricey £142.74 with the AA and £129.50 with the RAC.
With a total of 77% of cars fixed at the roadside by ASDA's recovery and repair man, and an average response time of around 45 minutes, it's clear to see why we recommend ASDA as clear winners here.
