Are you a freshly qualified driver? The world is now your oyster, however, you'll still have to fork out an unreasonable amount for Car Insurance unfortunately. There are however a number of things you can do to cut this premium down, and we've got all the information right here.
car insurance for new drivers is an expensive business, but by following these tips you won't get ripped off. Our first suggestion to cut your premium down is to participate in a "Plus Pass" course. These courses are an extra bit of training you can take on after your driving test which show insurance companies that you are a skilled driver. In fact, many have it written in their policies that you will receive a discount if you pass one of these programmes!
Our next tip is to limit the size of the engine in the car you're going to buy. There's no point going for a 1.6 or 1.8 ltr engine in your first car, it will just be prohibitively expensive to insure. The best course of action here is to get a small 1.2 ltr engine. You'll find this size of engine in many brilliant cars that can be bought cheaply.
Another tip is to only take out the insurance level that you absolutely need. Don't go comprehensive, get third party, fire and theft instead. This level of cover will be perfect for most young drivers, so don't spend money you don't need to on excessive cover.
