The Co-operative is one of the UK's oldest consumer-owned companies and it always has the customer in mind. Although it isn't the cheapest retailer or insurance provider on the market, it does guarantee to try and give the customer what they need, want and deserve for a good price. Co-operative travel insurance is aims to deliver a comprehensive cover policy, with a choice of one-off insurance policies or annual plans.

Some of the key benefits to the Co-operative travel insurance deal are:

  • Up to £5m paid of medical expenses if you are ill on holiday.
  • No restrictions on the number of trips you can take each year.
  • Automatic cover for curtailment or cancellation cost of your holiday up to £3,000.
  • Cover for loss or damage of personal belongings, including baggage, at no extra cost.
  • Choice of European and Worldwide cover.

  • Free legal expenses for personal injury up to £50,000.
  • Free access to a pre-travel helpline.
  • Free emergency travel assistance.
  • Free legal advice.



Despite offer a nice and neat package of cover, Co-operative travel insurance will not cover you in certain instances. For example, they won't cover:

  • The booking or undertaking of a holiday against the advice of a medical practitioner.
  • Participation during holidays in specified hazardous pursuits.
  • Any injury, disease or death resulting from a pre-existing medical condition.

They also cannot offer online quotes to people who are:

  • Living with, or have been, convicted or being prosecuted for crimes including arson, theft, fraud or handling of stolen goods.
  • Previously refused insurance and special conditions are imposed.
  • Under the age of 16 years old.
  • Are not a resident of Great Britain.
