Quick tips for credit card comparison

Engaging in a little credit card comparison before you sign any contract is always a good idea. Doing so can help ensure you get the best possible deal, one that will provide benefits now and in the future.  Here are three things to keep in mind as you conduct the comparison.Always look closely at the rate of interest.

Many providers offer an introductory rate that is very competitive, but not so great once that rate expires and the permanent rate applies to your balance.  Look beyond that wonderful introductory rate and see what you will pay six months or a year down the road. You may be in for a surprise.

Investigate the other fees and costs associated with each of the cards under comparison.  Is there an annual fee that applies even if the card balance is zero?  What about the costs if your payment posts one day after the due date?  Knowing the amount of those fees can go a long way toward helping you decide which card is a good fit for your needs.

Consider any type of additional incentives as part of the credit card comparison.  For example, is there a rewards plan, or possible a cash back bonus programme you can take advantage of?  If not, then it may be a good idea to check out other credit card plans.

While credit card comparison does take some time, the effort pays off with securing a credit card account that will serve you well for many years to come.
