Some bargain obsessed holiday-makers are taking advantage of the raging chaos in Egypt to get cheap holidays.
While the Foreign Office has warned against travelling to Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor and Suez, flights remain operational from the UK to the Sharm EL Sheikh airport in the Red Sea Resorts.
‘There are great deals to be had for anyone looking for some winter sun,’ said Bob Atkinson, of Travelsupermarket.com. ‘Tour operators would not still be travelling to the area if it was in any way dangerous.
‘The only advice I would give is to book with an Atol-protected company to ensure that you would be looked after in the event of any changes in the situation.’
Some travel agents are offering huge discounts, with all-inclusive, three-star holidays costing £300, and five-star resorts charging around £500.
Not bad if taking advantage of the protests to make a saving is your kind of thing.
