Harry Potter stars invest in property

The film franchise is coming to an end but the magic touch remains with the young stars of Harry Potter, who almost by magic seem to have accrued a property portfolio the envy of any right-thinking human being.

Despite being a terminally dull film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II has broken box office records and amassed £24.4 million in takings during the opening weekend alone. It will add to the bulging fortune of Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe, who himself already has £11.2 million worth of property in his name. This includes three New York addresses: a £3.5 million penthouse flat overlooking the Hudson river, a £4 million townhouse in Manhattan and a £3 million, 1,843 sq. ft. apartment in Mercer Street which he lets out. Radcliffe also has a £730,000 flat in Fulham near where his parents live.

Meanwhile his co-star Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, has built up a property portfolio in Hertfordshire, including a £5.4 million, 18th Century manor house set in 22 acres of grounds. Emma Watson meanwhile splurged £1 million on a chalet in the popular ski resort of Meribel in the French Alps, as well as a £3 million townhouse in Hampstead, North London.
