Insure the Box car insurance - how does it work?

Every couple of years an innovative new product hits the insurance market that changes the way things are done. One of the most recent of these is Insure the Box car insurance. This is an extremely clever way for everyone to get cheaper car insurance, especially younger drivers with less experience. So how does this new type of insurance work?
A telematics device known as a Clear Box is fitted to your vehicle. The box is hidden from view and is slightly larger than a mobile phone. This box feeds information about your driving back to the insurance company who can then assess it.
The less you drive, the less you pay! Initially you purchase 6,000 miles worth of cover. Clear Box then monitors the distance you are driving. If you use your original 6,000 miles you can choose to top up in bundles off 250, 500, or 1,000 miles. Your miles can even roll into the next year.
Insure the Box car insurance can even reward you based on your driving. Your personalised web page will have details of how you can improve your driving. When the Clear Box senses that you have improved your account will be credited with reward miles. Reward miles can then be used on the road or can be used to purchase items with some of their online partners.
