Nearly half of Britons are failing to take sufficient measures to combat card fraud, despite being worried about losing money as a result of the crime.
Of those who took part in a survey by payment systems group ACI Worldwide, 48% said they were worried about losing money because of card theft or card cloning, while 59% said they thought fraud was on the increase.
But nevertheless 9% admitted that they kept their Pin details with their credit or debit card, which would make it very easy for a thief to use.
Andy Morris at ACI Worldwide, said: ‘When it comes to fraud, prevention is obviously better than a cure. Banks need to continue to inform consumers about how they can protect themselves against fraud.’
