Telecoms giants Talktalk and 3 Mobile have won the spurious title of ’most complained about’ in a report by industry regulator Ofcom.
The report dubbed 3 Mobile as the mobile phone provider that has racked up most complaints. The least complained about mobile provider was O2, which receives 0.04 complaints per 1000 customers.
Meanwhile TalkTalk gets the most complaints about fixed phone lines and broadband. The least complained about in this category was Virgin Media, with only 0.2 complaints per 1000 customers.
The Ofcom report is the first of a series of quarterly reports that aims to keep the telecoms industry accountable.
Ofcom Chief Executive, Ed Richards, said: 'Consumers should have access to as much information as possible to allow them to choose between providers and to take full advantage of the competition in the sector.'
'By publishing complaints data, Ofcom aims to provide useful information to consumers, and also to give telecoms providers an incentive to improve their customer service'.
