Travel Insurance for Dummies....

Flat out the best option for Travel Insurance is the Annual Multi-Trip option.

Even if you think you’ll only be taking that one holiday a year that you always take - it works out much cheaper and more comprehensive to take out annual insurance.

It means, you and your belongings are covered for every and all trips you may take during the year – from the 3 weeks Backpacking in Asia to the 10 days caravanning in Wales and the romantic budget weekend special offer in a European capital.

Secondly, if you happen to have a Credit Card - and those that don’t either don’t deserve such potentially dangerous objects or are still dealing in shillings and ha’pennies – then get on to them now.

All the major Credit Card Companies will offer comprehensive travel insurance with purchases made with your credit card. The norm is that at least 75% of the trip must be paid with the card – and flights and accommodation usually necessitate a credit card payment – and then your holiday is comprehensively covered from the moment you leave your doorstep to arriving back with the duty free clinking in your suitcase.

So, if you want some Free Comprehensive Travel Insurance then hassle your bank and credit card company to give it to you. While you’re at it, get them to sign you up for frequent flyer miles with every pound spent on the card.

Happy and hassle free travelling.
