If your gas boiler suddenly goes on the blink, it means you and your family could be stuck with no heating or hot water – so you might be thinking about getting cover for your boiler.
The AA has boiler cover which offers an emergency telephone helpline 24 hours a day, seven days a week – and they say they’ll send out a qualified engineer to your home as soon as they can.
So what’s included in the AA boiler cover? Well, the gas boiler and heating controls are protected against total breakdown, where you are left with no heating, no hot water or, worse still, both.
Policyholders are allowed to make as many as four claims each year and the great part of this cover is that there is no restrictions on the cost of labour or parts when making a claim.
You can also use AA boiler cover in conjunction with an annual service for your boiler.
If your appliance breaks down and cannot be repaired, the AA will give you up to £250 towards the price of a new boiler.
Boilers than can be covered with this policy include gas combination boilers or gas condensation boilers up to 10 years old, along with conventional gas boilers up to 15 years old.
However, the AA says there are certain items that are not included in its boiler cover and these include repairs needing a chemical flush, boilers which have an output of more than 60kw and boilers which have not been maintained satisfactorily.
